Hi Jeri.

This turn-based space colony sim doesn't make the best first impression with its minimalist graphics, but don't let that fool you. Beneath the simple visuals lies a deeply engaging strategy game that sinks its hooks into you when you least expect it.

My first colony died pathetically – everyone starved while I frantically built power generators nobody needed. My second attempt ended when I expanded too quickly. By my fifth attempt, I was completely invested in these tiny digital colonists.

What makes Planetfall work is how it creates genuinely tense decisions. Every choice matters, especially early on when resources are scarce. Do I research better food production or invest in exploration? Should I build defenses or focus on infrastructure? The game brilliantly avoids obvious optimal paths, forcing you to adapt to your specific planetary conditions.

The interface is functional rather than flashy, which perfectly suits the game's substance-over-style approach. Information is clearly presented, and once you learn the visual language, managing your colony becomes second nature.

I particularly enjoyed how different each procedurally-generated planet feels, requiring new strategies rather than following a formula. The satisfaction of watching your colony transform from vulnerable outpost to thriving settlement creates a compelling gameplay loop that kept me saying "just one more turn" far too often.

Yes, the learning curve is steep, and yes, the tutorial could be more helpful. But failures never feel unfair – they feel like lessons. And when you finally establish that self-sustaining colony after multiple failed attempts, the sense of achievement is genuine.

For strategy fans willing to look past modest production values, Planetfall RI offers a surprisingly deep and rewarding experience that captures both the challenges and triumphs of establishing humanity's foothold among the stars.

Hey Jericha, I thoroughly enjoyed my experience testing out your game, however I do have certain points that are negative and positive that I'd like to make mention of that really stood out for me

Visual Quality

- The immersive experience of the visual quality was quite appealing and really brought out a sense of adventure and discovery. There was ample amount of light as there was darkness and the color scheme used was very well put together

Gameplay Engagement

- The game was engaging and satisfying as it showcased a new world that brought about a spark of curiosity. I found myself compelled to venture through the world in search of different obstacles

Design & Mechanics

- The design of the game was simple yet unique and the mechanics were easy to understand and work with. The overall process was seamless from my perspective of being a gamer

Overall Experience and Satisfaction

- The overall experience was intriguing for the most part and satisfying as the mechanics were what played a huge role in my experience with the game

Improvements

- The third person camera sensitivity of the character needs to be updated as it's too sensitive and turns at the slightest touch

- The lighting when the character is in a dark place needs improvement as visibility is heavily dampened

- The movement mechanics with the third person camera sensitivity needs updating for a more smoother transitioning when looking in different directions

Overall the game was well designed and thought through and as I've mentioned, I thoroughly enjoyed trying out the game.  Great job Jericha

The visual quality of the game is good as it effectively enhances the overall game experience through the colours, lighting and objects in the game. The gameplay engagement is also good because of its simple and clear game mechanics, making the game easy to understand and learn whilst playing. Furthermore, the game design is simple and clear and supports the gameplay well. The game objectives are pretty clear when playing and the game displays logic in its design making it easy to understand as you go through each level.Overall it's a good game and I had a satisfactory experience playing it,however, the controls could be better when moving around.

Fantastic work on this Unity game! The visuals are polished, the gameplay is engaging, and it's clear a lot of thought went into the design and mechanics. The experience feels smooth and immersive—really impressive

Enhancement

Redesign the UI for smaller screens. Ensure buttons are large enough for touch and spaced appropriately to avoid accidental taps.

Touch Controls:
Replace mouse/keyboard input with intuitive touch gestures. Use a virtual joystick or swipe gestures for movement, and on-screen buttons for actions.

Great Work.

Clean, crisp, and well-spaced for an efficient use of screen space. I'm guessing the game was designed in Game design mode. Captivating assets used here and works well for most levels/game scene. However, an added UI button could be added for whenever the user/player wants to navigate back to the Home/Main Menu scene. The button could either be placed in all game scenes and also sound effects for when player interacts or collects the diamond. Otherwise, great stuff.
